While reading, I really like How Huck is trying so had to rescue Jim and they he is trying everything he can to do it. I strongly believe that in the beginning of the book, he would not have done anything because he did not care how his decisions impacted others around him. Towards the end, he became more caring of others. Something that made me laugh was when Tom was coming up with a code of arms, he accidentally drew a funny picture. I laughed because he was so against that and against them writing on wood instead of stone. He always has to go by what the book says and it makes me laugh how he thinks the book is right no matter what and every else way is wrong. I could not imagine having a fun like that and whatever we did it had to be perfect and exactly what the "book" says.
I thought it was really significant how after Tom got shot, Jim cared for him and suggested that they should go find a doctor.
After Tom got shot, I found it very significant that Jim suggested to call the doctor and that he showed how much he cared for Tom. He knew that if the roles were reversed that Huck or Tom would both do the same for him. You would think that a black man would show no mercy for the whites and would want them to suffer in pain. Since they are the ones who promote slavery. It is great to see that in this book that a slave and a young boy can become so close and care about each others needs. No one would of thought that a black man would help a white and vice versa. I love reading about things like this because it reminds me by this world is so beautiful and there are so many good people in it. Even though, the whites have done so many bad things to the black they still find a way in their hearts to look past it and create a long lasting friendship. It amazes me more and more to see things liekt his actually happen now in present day.
After the doctor showed up, it was siginifcant how Jim acted like he did not know Huck. Some of you are thinking why is that a good thing? Well if he would of acted like he did then Huck would of got in more trouble and also be put in a sticky situation. That is the last thing Jim wanted to happen. He cares for Huck and loves him that he would not do anything like that to him. Like is aid that is a cherishable friendship. Also, it surprised me how the doctor actually stood up for Jim and told the people to quit being so cruel to him. They could of easily turned against him and said he was against slavery and pretty much say he was helping a slave. It shows risk and I love how in this book everyone is willing to take a risk. This book had many surprises to me and I loved how you never knew what was going to happen next. It was always a mystery and it was always interetsing. I loved how when I was reading that I could almost picture myself in their shoes and feel what they are feeling. I love how Twain made the two main characters become so close and have the friendship that they did. I love reading books that create long lasting friendships. It does not matter what race, religion, or where you come from, it is what's on the inside. I loved this book and I just loved how a slave and a white boy could become close and actually put aside their differences and help one another in need. I really enjoyed reading and I love the author also.
